GE Remote Code Finder
GE Remote Code Finder and Manual Code Search
The universal remote is an underappreciated invention. These convenient devices can replace multiple electronic devices quickly and easily, plus their programming process makes setup quick.

Make sure that your GE remote contains fresh batteries. Check the code list included with it and circle all of the codes which correspond with your TV brand.
Searching for a Code
As with other universal remotes, programming a GE remote requires entering an access code. For convenience’s sake, use the GE Remote Code Finder which offers a list of codes for many brands and models of devices; alternatively you can attempt manual code searching to discover what it may be.
Start by powering on the device you wish to control with a GE remote; remembering that this remote only supports devices which support remote control in general; if your device was not originally shipped with one, GE universal remotes won’t work with it. Locate and press/hold device button on GE universal remote (usually labeled TV, DVD Player etc), until code search light turns red before releasing this button on remote.
The code search light will flash every two seconds while your remote searches for an acceptable code. Once it stops flashing, that signifies it has found one and your device should turn off; be mindful that reprogramming may activate it again! Keep the remote aimed towards it at all times!
If your device doesn’t turn off when using its remote control, chances are it has found an incompatible code for it. Cycle through all possible codes until one becomes compatible – this may take time if your code of choice is nearing the end of its internal list. If the remote can’t locate one that does work, however, a message reading “Device Not Found” and flashes four times will display before shutting off altogether.
If your remote has a “Setup” or “Power” button, press it until a red light illuminates, and then press the device button corresponding with what device you’re programming (e.g. TV if programming for TV). Next, enter your code from the list provided by GE Remote Code Finder and continue.
Finding a Code
GE universal remotes come equipped with printable codes that enable them to be programmed for specific electronic devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, DVD players and even audio equipment. You can quickly find these codes by searching GE website for your device type – using these codes will make programming your remote an efficient process!

Common programming errors when programming your GE remote include failing to turn on your device, entering incorrect codes or not receiving responses from your remote. Most of these issues can usually be solved through some basic troubleshooting steps – for instance ensuring batteries are securely placed; dead or misplaced batteries could lead to inaccessible remote controls.
Once your device is powered up, press and hold the setup button on your remote until a red indicator light illuminates – this indicates that your remote is ready for programming. Now, locate your device button – usually TV, CBL, DVD or AUX – press it and enter its code before pressing your power button again on the remote to begin controlling it.
Many GE remotes feature an auto search and matching feature to find and match a code with your device, making the process more efficient. Simply visit GE support website to locate a device code. After entering it into the remote and following the instructions to complete the process. If the device doesn’t turn off as expected, follow your manual’s instructions to display another code; or experiment with various combinations until one works!
Programming a Code
The GE Universal Remote is an underappreciated innovation. With one remote you can control almost any TV, set-top box, Blu-ray player and other electronic device you own; programming it easily – either with or without codes – takes only seconds! In this guide we will cover two methods of setting up your GE universal remote to work seamlessly with devices you already own.
One of the easiest ways to connect your GE remote with electronics is using its code search feature. This feature, found on all GE remotes, enables you to quickly find compatible codes for devices quickly. To activate it, press and hold SETUP until INDICATOR LIGHT comes on – usually near power button on remote.
As soon as your INDICATOR LIGHT illuminates, press the device button for each type of device you’d like to program (e.g. TV, VCR or DVD) that requires programming (e.g. TV, VCR or DVD) until it blinks briefly before remaining lit. Entering codes from your remote’s manual, should you encounter issues controlling or turning on/off devices using remotes if this process doesn’t turn them on/off automatically then repeat by pressing device button again while entering another code from list until it works or doesn’t control them at all then press device button again while entering codes until device/control works then press device button again as per above steps until device turns on/controls device can then try entering different codes until corresponding code works and you enters it successfully turns or controls device successfully or any issues arises then repeat until device turns on/controls its intended device/controlling then press device button again while entering another code from list! If this process doesn’t turn on or control device or turns it then repeat this step by repeating steps until device/control is turned on/controlled using remote (pressing/pressing/pressing button/pressing again until button/pressing device button/ entering another code from manual).
If this process doesn’t turn on/controls device then repeat by repeat this step (pressing/pressing device button/repeating process by repeated by device/repeates back off/repeates process by repeating device button/repeating process doesn’t controls device then repeat process until control becomes active/controlled device then repeat by repeat pressing button/repeating device turns off or controlling device then repeat step/controlled/controls device button/control button/repealignition repeat device button/ list enter/controls list until device doesn’t turns off/controls repeated repeat process/ until control or turns then control process / repeat repeat the repeat by repeat until remote turns off or controls device again until device/control re entering another code from list or another code from list before entering one works then pressing again until device/controls again until device/control then repeat repress device then repeat this repeats/control and pressing repeat process by repeats not turn or turns off or controlling then repeat process by then pressing another code from list repeat by repeated repeated etc until device turns off/controls does turns don’t turns turns off or control then doesn’t works/s doesn’t turns turns off/ controls the device doesn’t turns control/ turns then doesn’t turn then or any device /control is taken off/ controls device again when remote doesn’t control device button again until it doesn’t turning device again pressing device/ repeated pressing device button again pressing repeat pressing device button/control then repeat device button repeated either pressing device again when pressing device until repeat step to repeated device before repeat step repeat until or controls device(or control then then repeat until repeated as any device before/control then repeat until/or controls device without/ control device/or
Use the GE Remote Code Finder to program your remote without needing a code, making this method far simpler than manually programming it. Simply point your GE remote at the device you wish to control before pressing its appropriate device button – such as for television – on its remote control device button until its red indicator light begins blinking before remaining lit; and press Send Code until it finds one that works! The red indicator light will blink twice more before it remains lit permanently as this method sends 10 different codes through until one works perfectly with your device until it finds one which it sends until one comes through to program it correctly!
Once a code has been programmed into the GE Remote Code Finder, it should indicate “Program Successful”, and your device should switch on automatically. If not, try another code from your list or consult your manual GE Remote Code Finder manual for assistance.
Troubleshooting
GE universal remotes offer an efficient way of managing multiple electronic devices in your home, replacing one original remote while keeping everything working seamlessly. They’re designed to work with most televisions, cable boxes and other devices; but if yours is having issues pairing or functioning as expected there are several easy troubleshooting steps you can try: making sure the batteries are inserted correctly (ensuring polarity matters!) power on device being attempted to pair, new set of batteries in remote and then try pairing again (all may help!). Finally try installinging new batteries into remote before trying pairing again – sometimes works wonders!

If your GE remote isn’t responding after following its programming instructions in its user manual, double-check that you are using the correct codes for pairing it to your device – these should be available in its manual. Also ensure there’s an unobstructed line of sight between it and the device with no obstructions or interference that might impede communication between them.
GE Universal Remote Code Finder is a useful tool for quickly finding the appropriate code for your GE remote, but keep in mind that these are simply starting points; trial-and-error may be required to find what fits best in your setup. If you still require assistance, contact your remote’s manufacturer.
